Steve Jobs Hits #1 on Amazon

Steve Jobs Book CoverSteve Jobs, the biography by Walter Isaacson, has just become the best selling book on Amazon for 2011. This is a pretty remarkable feat, considering its early October release. It's been available to purchase for only two months. It had strong sales when it was first offered as a pre-order on Amazon, but surged with a 40,000% increase in sales following the death of Jobs.

Without Steve Jobs, there would be no Pixar today as we know it. Though, he originally had a different vision of Pixar (as a computer hardware company) when he first purchased it from George Lucas in the 80's, he patiently poured millions of dollars into Pixar for several years of unprofitable business and learned to see the potential of computer animation. He served for many years as CEO of Pixar until Disney bought the company in 2006.

New Revelations About Mind Movie in Lasseter Interview

John Lasseter InterviewedIn an hour long interview with Charlie Rose on Friday, John Lasseter revealed some new tidbits about Pete Docter's next film that explores the mind. "Pete Docter, from Monsters, Inc. and UP, is doing a new film that takes place inside of a girl's mind and it is about her emotions as characters, and that is unlike anything you've ever seen."

Take from that what you will; just enough to get your imagination going, but vague enough to drive you mad!

There is, however, a fairly significant news item in the revelation that this film's protagonist is also female. It will be only Pixar's second film with a lead woman after Pixar's 14th film, Brave is released next year starring the Scottish princess Merida.
