Brave Now Available on Blu-ray and DVD

Pixar Brave Blu-ray CaseReleased today to own on home video was Pixar's latest feature Brave. The film is quite a departure from “traditional” Pixar films, but proves Pixar's ability to roll out a successful non-buddy film. It's nice to see them diversify their portfolio, and with such a great film to boot! The gorgeous Scottish landscapes will take your breath away, especially in blu-ray high definition. You can see my full review here. Also included in today's release is the very well-received, gorgeous, and clever theatrical short, La Luna.

Brave is available for purchase on Amazon in a 5 disc 3D Blu-ray combo, 3 disc Blu-ray combo, and on DVD. It is also available as a digital download on iTunes.

Additionally, the Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2 is also available today on Amazon in a Blu-ray combo pack, and on DVD.

New Building on Pixar Campus Named After Steve Jobs

The original main building on the Pixar campus has been given a new name, The Steve Jobs Building.

Pixar Campus Steve Jobs Building

Steve Jobs was an essential part of the Pixar success story, especially early on as he funded the fledgling studio, spending millions of dollars of his own money until they became profitable. He served as CEO for many years until Pixar was purchased by Disney. Steve Jobs passed away just over a year ago in October 2011. This seems to me a very fitting tribute for a man without whom Pixar would not exist.
