Brave Takes Best Animated Feature Oscar

Brenda Chapmand and Mark Andrews accepting Oscar for Pixar's BraveBrave took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature tonight in a field of five great animated films. The general popular opinion in the media seemed to favor Wreck-It Ralph, but Pixar Portal readers had it right. The conclusion of our poll of yesterday left Brave with a wide lead over all other contestants.

While I agree that the storyline for Wreck-It Ralph is more original than that of Brave, I think that the sum total of Brave gives it a wide lead over the other nominees, and a well-deserved win.

Congratulations to Brenda Chapman, Mark Andrews and all of the crew and vocal talent for an exciting win tonight!

Readers Weigh in on the Oscars: Poll Results

For the last month or so Pixar Portal readers have been casting their votes for the Oscars . . . sorta.

Out of 157 votes, it comes as no surprise that Brave easily takes the prize with 73.89%. We are, after all, Pixar fans. At second place, Wreck-It Ralph comes in at 19.11% of the vote. Outside of this blog, Wreck-It Ralph seems to be the popular choice for the winner this year, but Brave did take the Golden Globe, so you never know. We'll find out in a few short hours.
