New rumors surrounding the public release of UP on Blu-ray have come to light in recent days. While there is still no official announcement for a US release, signs seem to be pointing to "soon." Dutch Pixar claims a February 22nd release for the Netherlands. The German Pixar Blog has placed its bets on March 8th for Germany. And most notably, it appears that it is already available in the United Kingdom.

It's still difficult to say what this means for US customers. The last several Pixar blu-ray releases have come 3 weeks prior to the UK release dates. Whatever the case, a US release is imminent.

UPDATE: UP 3D was not released on blu-ray last May, but is coming December 2012.

The 12 inch tall Steve Jobs figurine, previously rumored for imminent release, has now been cancelled. In Icons, the Hong Kong toy company that was producing the doll, cites immense pressure from legal teams representing Apple and the Jobs family as the cause for the cancellation:

Unfortunately we have received immense pressure from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs family . . . Though we still believe that we have not overstepped any legal boundaries, we have decided to completely stop the offer, production and sale of the Steve Jobs figurine out of our heartfelt sensitivity to the feelings of the Jobs family.
