Steve Jobs Doll Meeting Opposition

Steve Jobs DollThe thought of living toys is not unfamiliar to Pixar fans, but one look at this realistic, yet uncanny Steve Jobs doll might cause even the sanest among us to question its immobility when we turn our backs. Hong Kong based toy company In Icon announced its $99, foot-tall Steve Jobs replica last week, and was met quickly with a legal threat from Apple to prevent its production.

Apple claims to own rights to the Steve Jobs image. This could very well be the case. It is not unheard of for celebrities or organization representing celebrities to claim copyrights on images and even personality quirks of the stars. The hiccup for Apple may just be that only a handful of states will recognize those rights post-mortem. So whether or not Apple gets its way, the doll is still likely to be available everywhere except California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
