Tintin Takes Golden Globe
The Adventures of Tintin, a motion capture film from Nickelodeon, became the first non-Pixar film to win the Best Animated Feature Film award at the Golden Globes this evening. It beat out four other traditional computer animated nominees, including Cars 2, for the win. This will likely reignite the debate as to whether motion capture films belong in the same category as animated films.
It's hard to know whether the win for Tintin is an indication of the outcomes of future awards shows. Rango is predicted to win the Academy Award, but you never know what weight other wins may carry into other awards shows.
